Documentation Status Model
Each substantial documentation page should make its status clear. Use one of the following states in the page body when relevant.
Status values
- Draft
- Early proposal; not yet approved for implementation.
- In Review
- Under active review; expected to change based on feedback.
- Approved for Build
- Sufficiently agreed to start implementation.
- Implemented / Pending Verification
- Code exists or is in flight, but docs still need final validation against what shipped.
- Current
- Reviewed and believed to match the intended current state.
- Superseded
- Kept only for history/reference; replaced by newer documentation.
- Blocked
- Missing required decisions or upstream inputs.
Rules for use
- Do not imply certainty when a page is still exploratory.
- If implementation has diverged, downgrade the page from
Current until corrected.
- Use
Superseded rather than silently leaving stale pages to mislead readers.
- If a page depends on unresolved questions, link the relevant item in the gaps/drift register.
